Microsoft’s new tool for gaming developers looks to usher in a new era of fast-loading PC games.
The DirectStorage I/O system first appeared in Microsoft’s Xbox Series X and S game consoles via Microsoft’s custom NVMe SSD, which helps deliver “blazing-fast multiple gigabytes per second” from the SSD to the Xbox’s AMD-made integrated GPU for rendering.
